“They do not teach you this in school. They do not show you the beauty of existing, they do not show you the wonder of the Earth, they do not show you the unity that human beings are. They show you who is better, who is worse. They show you what they need to show you in order for their system to survive. They do not show you love.”—unknown (via tokyosluts)
“One of the most satisfying experiences I know- is just fully to appreciate an individual in the same way I appreciate a sunset. When I look at a sunset… I don’t find myself saying, “Soften the orange a little on the right hand corner, and put a bit more purple in the cloud color” … I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch it with awe as it unfolds. It is this receptive, open attitude which is necessary to truly perceive something as it is.”—Carl Rogers (via jarrodis)
Remember, kids: religion doesn’t make someone a good person and lack of religion doesn’t make someone terrible. Religion and morality do not go hand in hand. I’ve known atheists who’ve treated people better than many followers of many other religious affiliations. Think for yourselves, don’t always believe what you see and hear in the media.
